Thoughts

Dad We do not need a special day to bring you to our minds, The days we do not think of you are very hard to find. Each morning when we’re awake we know that you are gone, And no one knows the heartache as we try to carry on. There will always be a heartache, and often a silent tear, But always a precious memory of the days when you were here. If tears would make a staircase, and heartaches make a lane, We’d walk the path to heaven and bring you home again. We hold you close within our hearts, and there you will remain, To walk with us throughout our lives until we meet again, The only happy tears we shed is knowing you’re not alone, you walked the path to Heaven to be with Mum once more, you’re home! Our Dad kept a garden. A garden of the heart; He planted all the good things, that gave our lives their start. He turned us to the sunshine and encouraged us to dream: Fostering and nurturing the seeds of self-esteem. And when the winds and rain came, he protected us enough; But not too much because he knew we would stand up strong and tough. His constant good example always taught us right from wrong; Markers for our pathway that will last a lifetime long. We are our Dads garden; we are his legacy. Look around, it’s beautiful. For you and me to see! Our family chain is broken now, and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
